World's Big Sleep Out

MVSC's Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Clark and former staff member, Sarah Hannigan, spent the night in a very wet and windy Trafalgar Square on Saturday 7th December, joining hundreds of others seeking to raise money and highlight the plight of homelessness. They faced temperatures of about 10C and heavy rain - conditions which supporters said rough sleepers face every day.

This was part of the World’s Big Sleep Out event, which saw thousands of individuals across the globe, spend the night on the streets of world capital cities, including, Edinburgh, New York, Sydney, Mumbai and Johannesburg.

Between them, Sharon, Sarah and their group of friends raised over £2000. Worldwide, it is estimated that nearly £40 million pounds has been raised to support homelessness charities.
