Well done to the team of volunteers who helped Friends of Mitcham Common fill over 50 bags and cleared some of Commonside East, and also a stretch along the Croydon Road. Everyone enjoyed themselves, especially the coffee and biscuits afterwards.
One of the volunteers said: “We found it really therapeutic to be with like-minded people who want to make the area litter free – we felt like we were part of a community." Great thought which sums up what the Friends are all about.
They are holding another litter-pick on Sunday 18th March at 10.30am, meeting at Ecology Centre car park. Please come along if you can, it's a great opportunity for networking and sharing views on how the Friends can develop.
