Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, Mental Health Awareness Week took place from 18-24 May. Thank you to everyone in Merton that took part in posting positive stories and doing acts of kindness throughout the week (and beyond!).
Mental Health Foundation express their thanks for support during Mental Health Awareness Week in the video below:
They have also compiled some of the thousands of amazing stories of kindness that were shared with them from people from all walks of life. They’ve had everyone from royalty, Olympic athletes, schools, families, company bosses, mayors, young people - even one foreign embassy getting involved. The incredible Rock Choir sang for 24 hours to raise funds and awareness and there was fantastic media coverage during the week.
Kindness matters not just today but every day of the year so please do keep their Kindness Matters Guide for your tips and ideas on acts of kindness, for yourself, friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.
Almost three-quarters of people say it is important that we learn from the coronavirus pandemic to be more kind as a society.
