Social Prescribing Manager

Merton’s established Social Prescribing Service in GP practices is undergoing a process of expansion. The service is managed by MVSC and we now need to recruit a Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to actively mould and shape the future of Merton’s Social Prescribing Service.

Over the last two years the service has gained a reputation for being an exemplar of how to work through partnership, be innovative and forward-thinking. Social Prescribing supports local people to take an active role and responsibility for improving their own health and wellbeing by ensuring that the intervention best meets their individual bespoke social needs.

You will be responsible for the management, development and operational delivery of the Social Prescribing Service which is due to be rolled out borough-wide. You will lead on building and maintaining partnerships while responding to emerging knowledge on social prescribing and working closely with the new Primary Care Networks in Merton.

You will need to be proactive, have experience of leading and developing person-centred services and have the ability to develop projects or services from inception to delivery. You need to be a solution-focused person who enjoys being at the forefront, actively moulding and shaping an ever-evolving service. A demonstrable understanding of social prescribing and its potential is essential, as is experience and knowledge of the voluntary sector.
