The Press and Public Affairs Manager (0.4 full-time equivalent) role is an opportunity to join our dynamic and fast-paced team working on issues at the top of the political agenda.
The King’s Fund has a strong presence in the media, a respected voice in parliament, and extensive connections across the health and social care sectors. We are looking for a Press and Public Affairs Manager to help give our work even more impact.
The role will focus on working with journalists to secure high levels of media coverage for our work. The post holder will also lead strategic communications planning for specific projects and work regularly with parliament and national stakeholders.
We are seeking candidates with a proven track-record in delivering first-class media relations who have good knowledge of public policy and parliament, and the ability to analyse and articulate complex policy issues. In return, we are offering the opportunity to work on some of the biggest policy issues facing the country, working alongside leading experts in a friendly and supportive charity.
The post is being offered as either a job share or a part time role. We expect it to be on the basis of 2–2.5 days a week, but there is scope to negotiate the exact contracted hours. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the postholder will initially be working remotely. IT equipment to allow remote working will be provided by The King’s Fund. Once The King’s Fund office fully reopens, the postholder will be expected to spend some contracted hours in the London office.
In addition to a competitive salary, The King’s Fund offers generous holiday entitlements. When in the office, staff also benefit from a £3 daily discount in our café and an on-site gym.
