Polka Theatre Executive Director

Polka Theatre is looking for an exceptional Executive Director to work as joint CEO alongside our Artistic Director, Peter Glanville, and play a leading role in shaping Polka’s long-term strategy and operation at a pivotal moment in its history.

Polka Theatre is a rare and special thing: an acclaimed producer of world-class theatre for children and one of the few venues in the UK exclusively for children from birth to 12 years old. We are committed to presenting a diverse and innovative programme of work for children that speaks to and reflects contemporary society in all its diversity. In addition to our year-round offer of artistic work, we also provide a rich programme of participation and creative learning projects, community engagement and access schemes. We have a current annual turnover of £1.9m and attract over 90,000 visitors each year.

This is an exciting and challenging time to be joining Polka. Thanks to a £2.5m commitment from the Arts Council, we are now working towards an ambitious capital project to develop and modernise our premises and have a chance-of-a-lifetime opportunity to improve and sustain Polka for future generations.
