Peer Support Coordinator

Hearts & Minds is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated individual to lead our peer support service for young people experiencing mental health difficulties. We are a Peer Led organisation, so in order to ensure we are representative of the population we serve, we are ideally looking for applicants who are under 30 and have lived experience of mental health difficulties or distress.

This is a part time role, working 1 day a week in and around the area of Wimbledon, South West London. Half of that time would need to be worked around our weekly group sessions on Tuesdays 6-8pm and the rest of the time could be worked flexibly. In this role you would manage the frontline running of the service, providing peer support expertise and coordination by:

  • Overseeing facilitation of our weekly peer support group, including planning session activities
  • Providing one to one peer support sessions with members as and when required
  • Supervising and supporting volunteers, building their experience and confidence
  • Providing initial training and monthly team meetings for volunteers, alongside the director
  • Managing safeguarding concerns, alongside the director and trustees
  • Professional networking, representing Hearts & Minds at events and forums, alongside the director and trustees
  • Managing new referrals, alongside the administrator
  • Managing research and participation session requests from other services and organisations
  • Line managing the administrator
