NHS Merton Expert Patient Programme Courses

NHS Merton CCG’s Expert Patient Programme offer free courses for people who live with one or more long-term health condition.  It provides patients the tools, techniques and confidence to manage their condition better on a daily basis to improve their quality of life. There are two courses taking place in September and the details of each course are listed below:

Looking After Me (LAM)
This is a course for carers. The Looking After Me course is about you making time to look after your own health needs. It aims to help you take more control of your situation and make a difference to your life in order to provide the best care possible. This course is for anyone who looks after or supports a family member, close friend or neighbour who could not manage on their own. The next Looking After Me (LAM) Course will take place on:

  • Tuesday 19 September, 26 September, 3 October, 10 October, 17 October, 24 October 2017
  • 10:30am – 1pm
  • Once a week for 6 weeks
  • Vestry Hall, 336–338 London Road, Mitcham, CR4 3UD

New Beginnings (NB)
This is a course for people living with, or in recovery from, a mental health condition. The course is delivered in a group, with guided open discussion and peer support, covering topics such as stress and anxiety. The next New Beginnings (NB) Course will take place on:

  • Thursday 21 September, 28 September, 5 October, 12 October, 19 October, 26 October 2017
  • 10:30am – 1pm
  • Once a week for 7 weeks
  • Pollards Hill Baptist Church Hall, Wide Way, Mitcham, CR4 1BN
