Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) is set to be delivering modern sexual health services across Merton, Richmond and Wandsworth from October 1 2017, jointly commissioned by the three councils.
Spectra will deliver the Check it Out service. This is a specific young person’s outreach, working with schools to deliver contraception and sexual health messages. Spectra will provide the Merton Young People’s Sexual Health Outreach offering support to young people under 25 around sexual health, contraception and relationships.
Spectra will also work with higher education colleges and other local community settings used by young people. They will provide clinical input (emergency hormonal contraception), chlamydia and gonorrhoea screening, free condoms, pregnancy testing, alcohol and substance misuse advice, advice on sex and relationships and fast track referral to appropriate mainstream clinics as appropriate – including chlamydia screening.
CLCH will support Spectra with clinical input for provision of contraception (including EHC) and safeguarding.
The new service provided by Spectra will continue to offer HIV screening and testing, group and 1-2-1 work with vulnerable young people.
