Merton Parks and Open Spaces

Merton Council is giving residents access to parks and open spaces to allow people the opportunity to get outdoors especially, those without gardens.

In these unprecedented times, it is important to balance that up with keeping everybody safe. It is for that reason, they have taken the difficult decision to suspend pay and display parking bays around Wimbledon Common (except for key workers) from Friday April 10 to at least April 30.

At the same time, they have also closed some of their car parks located in parks. Unfortunately this decision has been taken due to the very high amount of visitors to the common and parks last weekend, which led to some social distancing issues and groups congregating.

For your own safety and for the safety of others around you, please stay at home to save lives, and only exercise once a day. If you have to go out, stay local and observe the two-metre rule. You can find your nearest park and open space on our website.
