MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID COURSE (FREE)

Need2Succeed in collaboration with Ian Beever Consultancy and Training
are focused on supporting local organisations make a positive change to
their workplaces to ensure they're both physically and mentally safe for their
workers, clients, contractors and volunteers.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training
course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of
mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA won’t teach you
to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen,
reassure and respond; even in a crisis.
A deeper understanding of mental health
and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing,
including your own
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs
of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support
a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as nonjudgmental
listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their
health by guiding them to appropriate
support
This course can be fully funded
through Merton Adult Learning
If you are 19+ unemployed or
earning below £20,592.50, been
a resident of the UK for 3 years
or more and educated up to
Level 2, you may be eligible for
full funding.
