To celebrate Kingston Burrowes turning 10 we have decided to thank the local Kingston and Merton communities that have helped us grow by launching a new community fund.
From July 2018 local community groups will be able to apply for a share of the fund, we are giving away up to £250 per project. 4 grants will be offered in total, two being awarded to projects in Merton and two in Kingston.
Ideally projects should be focused on work supporting activities with clear benefit to the community, working with young people/children, schools, special educational needs, those with disabilities or the elderly. Projects that benefit the local environment such as enhancing the appearance or accessibility of community areas, including events or artistic installations are also considered.
Applications are invited from registered charities, not for profit organisations (including small clubs and societies) or individuals engaged in a specific funding appeal that meets the above criteria.
The grants are aimed at specific projects where an amount of up to £250 will either fund the entire cost of, or make a significant contribution to the total required (e.g. an individual piece of equipment or event/activity cost), not general running costs or continuation of existing and ongoing work.
Projects must be located in, and for the benefit of, the boroughs of Merton or Kingston upon Thames only.
Applications will open on 1st July 2018 and close at midnight on 17th September 2018. Successful grants will be announced on 28th September 2018.
