Home Start Merton has been supporting families in Merton since 1993 and offers support to families with at least one child under five.  Families are visited regularly in their own homes by volunteers who have all had experience of parenting, and know how hard it can sometimes be. By visiting a family in their own home and offering support, volunteers represent a lifeline for many families who are finding it hard to cope. On Friday 27 June the staff from the London offices of Indigo Planning spent the day volunteering for local charity The Wimbledon Guild helping to create a new communal garden for local residents and customers. Neighbours donned gloves and litter-pickers for the first in a series of big clean-ups of their community. Councillors, volunteers and residents joined forces for the Big Pollards Hill Clean Up in the park behind the New Horizon Centre on Friday, June 27.
