Over 100 volunteers, delegates and dignitaries will gather at The Merton Partnership Volunteer Awards 2016 on Wednesday 8th June, 6pm - 8pm at The Dugout, Tooting and Mitcham United, KNK Stadium, Bishopsford Road, Morden, SM4 6BF. Jigsaw4u, a local children’s charity based in Mitcham, is looking for volunteers to befriend and assist vulnerable 10 or 11 year olds in Year 6. They will offer regular individual support to a child, guiding them through their transition to secondary school. The Wimbledon Guild Village Fair is appealing for volunteers to help make the event a huge success on 18th June 2016. Every year the Guild relies on more than 100 volunteers to help with the fair, which is on June 18 this year. Abundance is a fruit picking and sharing project in Wimbledon and nearby. They rely entirely on volunteers - people offering excess fruit from their gardens, picking the fruit and turning it into something nice to eat. The Multiple Sclerosis Society, Merton Branch, supports people with MS and their families grants for equipment, home adaptations, and respite care, and sessions with a Physiotherapist. They have been authorised by the Metropolitan Police to take up a street collection on Saturday 28th May.
