A team of volunteers working with Merton Council’s heritage service to create an online archive of Merton in the First World War, have been shortlisted for a prestigious award -  the team will find out if they have won the award at a ceremony to be held at City Hall on 6 November. A new report by nfpSynergy has been released showing the proportion of the UK public that volunteer. The report gives an overview of volunteering over time from as far back as 2003 up until August 2017. Their findings show that 16-34 year old men are now one of the most likely groups to volunteer closely followed by women in the same age group.
