Staff sickness levels had been high with everybody suffering from colds, coughs and nasty viruses and we needed a positive way to encourage staff to try and stay fit and healthy both mentally and physically.

MVSC run an employee volunteering scheme which gives each member of staff the chance to give 14 hours of time each year to a volunteering activity! This isn’t a standard policy in most organisations so of course when I heard it was available I jumped at the chance to help out in Merton.
