Comic Relief has distributed more than £3.4m of funding to BAME-led voluntary sector organisations for the first time. The grant-maker said it had identified 10 charities that would each receive funding of between £275,000 and £440,000, to be distributed to smaller organisations that have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. As the weather warms up, the Warm & Well campaign in Merton is working in partnership with Merton Council, Wimbledon Guild, Age UK Merton and Thinking Works to provide information and support on how to stay well during the summer months. The Heritage Emergency Fund is providing a package of support for the heritage sector as a response to the COVID-19 crisis. This includes increased advice and support, longer-term skills and capacity building initiatives, and a £50 million Heritage Emergency Fund to provide emergency funding for those most in need. Music Relief Foundation has developed a 360°, interactive gallery exhibition, that will bring together the best of music, art, augmented, and virtual reality. They are seeking submissions for the exhibition, which will take place on Saturday 11th July @ 1pm. As we enter this phase of lockdown, we continue our work with the voluntary sector to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19. Today (Monday 22nd June) is Windrush Day, a nationwide celebration of the Windrush Generation and the Caribbean community in the UK.
