Woodward Charitable Trust offers funding towards the core costs of UK charities with annual income less than £200,000 working in several areas. As we enter this phase of lockdown, we continue our work with the voluntary sector to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19. Today (Monday 22nd June) is Windrush Day, a nationwide celebration of the Windrush Generation and the Caribbean community in the UK. Sadly the pandemic has prevented Merton from holding a range of public events that had been planned for this weekend, however Merton Heritage Service has created a range of Windrush resources as part of an online celebration. Small and micro businesses and charities with ongoing fixed property costs may be eligible for a grant from the Discretionary Grants Scheme if they were not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund. This fund is significantly smaller than the previous coronavirus related grants and will only be available to support a small number of businesses in Merton. The Next Steps programme will open for applications from 10 June 2020. The Next Steps programme is BBC Children in Need's response programme designed to deliver support for children and young people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England, a social enterprise offering expert workplace mental health guidance and training, has launched a new online version of the flagship Mental Health First Aid course.
