The final provision of the Charities (Protection and Social Investment) Act 2016 comes into effect on 1 August 2018.  This automatically disqualifies certain people from serving as charity trustees or in some senior positions in charities in England and Wales – regardless of whether the charity is registered with the Charity Commission. The Merton NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and Merton Council set out to test a model of Social Prescribing that would connect medical care with local voluntary and community resources.
