The Merton Youth Generator Fund is a fund for young people age 13-19 (up to 25 with learning disabilities). All applicants must live, be educated in or be able to demonstrate a connection with Merton. The deadline for applications to this fund is 9 July. New Mayor of Merton David Williams has written to the Chief Executive of Merton Voluntary Service Council asking her to encourage voluntary groups in the borough to make contact with him and invite him to visit and learn more about their work. Merton Centre for Independent Living will hold its first AGM at Morden Baptist Church at 11.30 a.m. on July 11th 2012. After the formal business there will be lunch and entertainment. At the meeting Merton CIL will also be launching its web site and peer support project.

NHS London has published an independent report into a significant misstatement in Croydon Primary Care Trust’s (PCT) accounts for the fiscal year 2010/11. The review concluded that Croydon had in reality a significant deficit as opposed to a surplus of £5.4m as was reported in their 2010/11 annual accounts. There will be a health event for hard to reach and migrant communities in Merton on July 27th at the Acacia Intergenerational Centre 230 Grove Road, Mitcham CR4 1SD. Local musicians will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in the largest closing event for the London 2012 Festival on 9th September thanks to Merton Council.
