The Centre for Independent Living held its inaugural meeting on 6th April, at which it was formed as a Company Limited by Guarantee. To celebrate, over 50 people attended a lively event at Morden Baptist Church. Attic Theatre are promoting their latest show aimed at older people’s groups, which focuses on encouraging healthy living. Ma Kelly Goes to the Games is part funded by Awards for All and is available at a rate of £400 per show. For more information, see the attachments.

This programme is a collaboration between London Catalyst, the Church Urban Fund and the Wakefield and Tetley Trust. Its aim is to encourage and develop social action projects involving faith groups and health partners that are seeking to tackle health inequalities and the effects of poverty. Grant of up to £10k are available to organisations with an annual income of less that £150k. The deadline is 31st May For more information see the application pack below.

Merton Council and Merton Police are joining forces on Tuesday 8th February 2011 at Wimbledon Piazza to listen to your views and answer your questions on all issues community safety, crime and anti-social behaviour. A partnership made up of Merton Council, the Police, London Fire Brigade and other agencies - will be out on the streets until the 29th of October, determined to find out the top community safety concerns of those who live and work in the borough.    Safer Merton partners will be on hand to provide advice and information and encourage people to fill in the annual Strategic Assessment form.
