Dear all We have made an excellent start to the performance year with reductions in Residential Burglary, Robbery and Theft of Motor Vehicle just three examples of the excellent work that your officers and teams have achieved. Many of you will have heard me say that we have one over arching priority and that is to have less victims of crime than last year. Stephen Alambritis, Leader of Merton Council and Chair of the Merton Partnership will launch this new grants fund on Monday 14th May, 10.30 to 1.00pm at Grenfell Housing and Training. The fund, which will provide grants of up to £10,000 for voluntary sector projects in the east of the Borough, is being administered by MVSC on behalf of Merton’s Shadow Health and Wellbeing Board. A reminder that the deadline for the next Empowering Communities grant programme is the 14th May. Grants are available up to £3,000. Small new groups and groups that are not constituted are encouraged to apply and Merton Priory Homes will help them to work with an established partner. Sport Relief is supporting The Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund with a grant of £1million.
