Small and micro businesses and charities with ongoing fixed property costs may be eligible for a grant from the Discretionary Grants Scheme if they were not eligible for the Small Business Grant Fund or the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund. This fund is significantly smaller than the previous coronavirus related grants and will only be available to support a small number of businesses in Merton. The Next Steps programme will open for applications from 10 June 2020. The Next Steps programme is BBC Children in Need's response programme designed to deliver support for children and young people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England, a social enterprise offering expert workplace mental health guidance and training, has launched a new online version of the flagship Mental Health First Aid course. Since 9th June 2020, people are now able to book to train as a Mental Health First Aider through an entirely online course. Charities are being invited to apply to take part in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge, which helps to raise millions of pounds for good causes each year.
