Launch event for Merton Council funding programme
The event to launch Merton Council's strategic partners grants programme took place at Vestry Hall on 17th July. Colleagues from the Council set out the proposals for the grants programme. The scope of the programme has expanded and the Council will now be looking to fund voluntary sector organisations delivering services in the following areas: information and advice provision, infrastructure support for the voluntary sector, wellbeing services, carers support services, and Healthwatch. More than 40 people from across the sector attended the energy-filled event. Working in focus groups, they studied the Council's plans and gave detailed feedback on these.
The Council officers at the meeting took receipt of all the feedback from the sector members at the event and agreed to consider these carefully and take them on board as far as possible, working collaboratively, as the programme developed.
The Council is now seeking further feedback via a survey. This survey is available on the Council's website, and all members of INVOLVE and the wider sector in the borough are encourage to complete this. The consultation closes at midnight on Monday 27th August 2018.
The Council's draft prospectus for the programme, and its presentation at the INVOLVE meeting and Q&A brief are below.
