Christian CARE Association, made up of volunteers from 18 different churches, has for 50 years offered a unique service in Merton, meeting the needs of families in poverty by Befriending families struggling with diverse problems, Family Support where shoppers deliver food fortnightly to give families ‘food security’, the Furniture Project, the only remaining source of free furniture locally, offering full house furnishings as well as single items, with teams of drivers and helpers ready to respond in a crisis, the Baby, Children’s and Household Project, delivering baby items, children’s clothes and bedding donations and Children' s Activities including an annual party, a seaside outing, a family holiday and sponsorship of 25 places at summer activity camps.
