Cupcake Day raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society

On 15th June we hosted a party for Cupcake Day, raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Colleagues from Vestry Hall donated yummy cupcakes and joined us for a tea party. Our friends at Jaspers very kindly donated a wide variety of tasty cupcakes.

Everyone had a tea-riffic time and we raised £200 for the Alzheimer's Society.

  • There are around 850,000 people in the UK who are living with dementia, of which at least 42,000 are younger people (under the age of 65)
  • Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia
  • 24% of men and 35% of women born in 2015 will develop dementia in their lifetime
  • Experts warn that deaths from the condition will overtake those from cancer by 2040.

Five things you should know about dementia

On Cupcake day, people across the nation united to fight dementia with that most mighty of weapons: the wooden spoon. For hotshot bakers and first-time makers alike, this was a fantastic opportunity to do something fun, creative and very tasty in support of Alzheimer’s Society.

The Alzheimer's society are the UK’s leading dementia charity, working to create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
