Adrianna Jones - Introducing Myself

Hi my name is Adrianna Jones and I joined the Merton Voluntary Service Council team in July as the new Social Prescribing Project Coordinator.  I am based at five local GP practices in East Merton.  After a successful pilot, MVSC fortunately recruited me to their team!
Before this new role, I was mainly based in and around West London and have worked for non-profit organisations within mental health services and NHS primary care.
Since joining MVSC, I have had the chance to meet patients from all walks of life and link them up with local community services that can help them to: access support groups, become more physically active, combat loneliness and help with any other social needs (eg, tackling employment issues or maximization of income).
As well as being a key link worker in the GP practices, I am also involved in the implementation of this Social Prescribing Project, which involves contributing new initiatives and meeting other voluntary organisations and commissioners.  In short, this keeps me in the loop!
I look forward to continuing to learn more about what Social Prescribing in Merton and MVSC's other services have to offer.  I’m particularly keen on promoting the service and maintaining key working relationships with each organisation.
Thank you to my fellow team members and all those I have already met for your warm reception!
